Index of schlösser in the Schloss books

In the last years Susan has visited more than two hundred German schlösser in the course of researching her books. Her husband suggested they take an overseas trip when she retired from her first career and they decided to explore Germany by car. On the first morning they visited the castle in the town of Celle in Lower Saxony and the rest (as they say) is history – six books on the history of German schlösser so far (plus a book on Schloss Wurzach and three books on Queen Victoria). Over the series of six books, she has written about one hundred and fifty schlösser (twenty-five in each book) sharing her experience as a visitor and some of their colourful royal history. A further fifty or so have been covered more briefly, either in the main narrative or in short text boxes.

Susan therefore thought it would be useful to create an index, listed in alphabetical order by federal state and showing the noble family with which she most associate each, to assist readers in navigating the books. Should you visit any of these schlösser, or indeed any not on her list, she would be interested to hear about your experience.
